Friday’s Tuff-N-Uff 142 event at Las Vegas’s The Theater at Virgin Hotels was filled with awe and surprise from amateurs to professionals. The night started with Zachary Rodriguez (debut) versus Damian Perez (debut) on the preliminary card, with both fighters making their amateur debuts. Perez won via unanimous decision, scoring 29-28 on the judge’s cards after showcasing his boxing experience with tough power hitting and high energy out of the gate. The preliminary card continued with Jarron Johnson versus Julian Hicks, with Hicks winning 30-26 via unanimous decision through accurate striking and headkicks to Johnson. Payton Collins (debut) versus Adrian Rogers (debut) followed, with Collins winning 29-28 via unanimous decision, before Matias Jimenez’s 29-28 unanimous decision win versus Jeremy Ryan in his debut. Xiaoya Luo versus Rosalani Ikei demonstrated a clinic in defense and offense, with rising star Ikei winning 30-27 via unanimous decision. David Goldenberg’s wrestling expertise earned him a 30-27 unanimous decision win against Isaiah Turner, before Tracy Love’s 29-28 unanimous decision win versus the late call-up of Jackson Degrey.
Tuff-N-Uff 142’s main card started and ended in the same way: a knock-out in the first round. Miguel Suazo knocked out Aaron Casey with a punch 12 seconds in, effectively kickstarting an already exciting main card on paper. What followed was a unanimous decision win by Enzo Perez-Rensoli versus Isaiah Metituk, alongside unanimous decision wins by Karlen Minasian (versus Miguel Angel Sosa), Tywan Claxton (versus Tynchtykbek Uulu), and Tyshawn Williams (versus Alfred Walker). Following four straight unanimous decision wins was a win via submission from Eduardo Penha in the first round versus UFC veteran Joshua Weems. Following Penha, Canaan Kawaihae’s neck crank onto Luis Marlon Gonzales earned him a win via submission in the first round. Friday night ended as electrifying as it started, with UFC veteran Diego Brandão taking Jamie Siraj’s TUFF Featherweight Championship belt with a combination of a spinning wheel kick and punches in the first round.
