Tuff-N-Uff officials are excited to reveal details for the organization’s long-awaited return to Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Friday, April 25 for “Tuff-N-Uff 143: Rodriguez vs. Sebie,” where the promotion’s vacant welterweight title will be up for grabs when Cuban standout Ernesto “Starboy” Rodriguez (9-1) takes on PFL, Bellator MMA and BRAVE CF veteran Mahmoud Fawzy “The Prince of Egypt” Sebie (5-2) in the night’s headliner.
Additionally, the Tuff-N-Uff 143 co-main event sees Brazilian UFC veteran Daniel “Miojo” Lacerda (12-6) seeking to follow up on a sensational promotional debut when he takes on undefeated bantamweight Andrew Garrette (5-0), while an intriguing featured matchup sees PFL and Eagle FC veteran Miles “The Gunslinger” Hunsinger (7-1) take on undefeated Canadian middleweight prospect John Moore (5-0).
Tickets for “Tuff-N-Uff 143: Rodriguez vs. Sebie” are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.
The Tuff-N-Uff 143 main card streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS, while preliminary bouts will stream live on the Tuff-N-Uff YouTube channel.
“This incredible year of growth for our promotion continues with a return to Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort, a venue that’s long been associated with incredible MMA events, including the UFC and WEC, for this spectacular lineup,” Tuff-N-Uff CEO Jeff Meyer said. “Ernesto and Mahmoud are each world-class athletes, and this is a matchup worthy of both the Tuff-N-Uff welterweight title, as well as the headlining role in such a spectacular venue, and we look forward to another incredible night of action in the Fight Capital of the World, so get your tickets now.”
Rodriguez enters the title shot on a strength of a seven-fight win streak that includes an incredible 5-0 mark in the Tuff-N-Uff cage. That run includes a few big-show names, as the Xtreme Couture and One Kick’s Gym athlete has earned wins over PFL and WSOF veteran Alexandre “Capitão” de Almeida and ONE Championship veteran Edson Marques in his past two outings.
Meanwhile, Sebie has already competed at the sport’s highest level, but his international accolades extend well past his MMA career, as he represented his native Egypt in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Greco-Roman wrestling. His MMA career has seen him compete domestically at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden, as well as internationally in Bahrain, Mexico and Serbia, and his five professional wins have all come via first-round stoppage.
KSNV Sports anchor Bryan Salmond calls the action at Tuff-N-Uff 143 alongside “The Ultimate Fighter 29” cast member and former Tuff-N-Uff amateur welterweight champion Ryder “Rhino” Newman. Dana White’s Contender Series, UFC FIGHT PASS Invitational and Power Slap veteran Justin Bernard serves as in-cage announcer.
