Tuff-N-Uff 145 Recap: Brandão Retains Belt, Kamaka Impresses, and Fireworks Inside the Cage
Sunday, June 29 – The Theatre at SAHARA Las Vegas
Tuff-N-Uff 145 delivered an unforgettable day of action at the Sahara Las Vegas, capping off UFC International Fight Week with twelve explosive fights that featured rising prospects, returning veterans, and a featherweight title fight under the spotlight of UFC Fight Pass.
Main Event: Brandão vs. Kawaihae
Featherweight champ Diego Brandão proved once again why he’s a force in the division, stopping Hawaiian standout Canaan Kawaihae with a TKO in the 4th round. The former UFC vet showed resilience when Kawaihae landed an elbow to the eye of the champ. However, Brandao’s continual body shots and head kicks was enough to silence any doubts about his place atop the Tuff-N-Uff featherweight rankings.
Co-Main Event: Kamaka defeats Muduev
In the co-main event, Kai Kamaka III picked up his second TNU win of the year with a unanimous decision win over Sitik Muduev.
Dante Schiro dominates Cooper III
Dante Schiro put on an impressive performance over PFL champ Ray Cooper III. It was ultimately a TKO victory in round 3 but Schiro’s relentless pressure and sharp ground game tired out Cooper III.
Jordi Maya unanimous decision win over Juancamilo Ronderos
Jordi Maya won all 3 rounds and earned a unanimous decision victory over former UFC flyweight Juancamilo Ronderos.
Luis Hernandez Steals the Spotlight
Perhaps the biggest breakout of the night came from Luis Hernandez, who remained undefeated (6-0) with a vicious standing guillotine choke finish over Miles Hunsinger into Round 2.
The Miami police officer took over MMA headlines while celebrating. Hernandez taunted the opposing corner, leading to a chaotic scene where Sean Strickland and Chris Curtis rushed the cage.
Magdi Amachov’s pro debut W
The former Tuff-N-Uff amateur Magdi Amachov secured a decision win over Elijah Ozuna.
